Items that are not held by KVCC may be available to borrow from other libraries through interlibrary loan. All patrons in good standing are eligible to borrow materials not available at KVCC from other libraries through interlibrary loan.
The KVCC libraries participate in two types of interlibrary loan, MeLCat, and traditional interlibrary loan borrowing. MeLCat is a Michigan ILL program with a vast network of libraries that facilitates receiving requests much faster than traditional ILL, usually within 7 days. If an item is not available through MeLCat, library staff can try to borrow items through traditional ILL.
Kalamazoo Valley participates in the state wide library borrowing cooperative MeLCat (Michigan Electronic Library Catalog). If you can’t find something in our catalog, search MeLCat and borrow from one of over 170 libraries around the state.
Use the search box below or visit the MeLCat website directly: http://elibrary.mel.org/
View your MeLCat patron record to check the status of your requests, cancel requests, and renew MeLCat materials.
