KVCC students are allowed entry to Borgess Library, Bronson Library and WMU's Waldo Library and can access journal databases as a guest user on-site at those locations. WMU's Medical Library is not open to the general public.
Library of Congress Classification System
The print materials at academic libraries are shelved according to the Library of Congress Classification System. Each item in the library collection is assigned a “call number” which contain letters, followed by a series of numbers, then more letters and numbers. The letters at the beginning of each call number identifies the subject of the item.
For example:
QM – Human anatomy QP – Physiology RC – Internal Medicine RM – Therapeutics. Pharmacology
The numbers break down the subject even further: RC705-779 – Diseases of the Respiratory System
